IIM-A ranked 26th in MBA programmes

The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad’s position in the Financial Times’ ranking of the top full-time global MBA programmes has moved up from number 30 in 2014 to 26 this year,“Although gratified by improvement in our rank, let me reiterate that we look at good rankings as the result of achieving our goals, rather than the goal itself. We are committed to providing an excellent educational experience that prepares our students as leaders of enterprises,” Ashish Nanda said in a statement. “Rankings are indicators of how we are doing, compared to other institutions, and provide an insight into what we are doing well and what we need to work on more. Our students have a rich learning experience recognised by the recruiters, as evidenced by our high ranking in the salary of graduates, value for money, career progress, and placement success metrics. We lag other institutions on measures of gender diversity and international composition,” he added.

Prof Nanda said IIM-A had made changes to its admissions approach to encourage individuals with diverse and international backgrounds to apply, and continued to make efforts through globally-advertised chaired professorships and faculty fellow positions to introduce more diversity in faculty as well.
