IRMA was established in 1979 at Anand, Gujarat with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), the Government of India, the Government of Gujarat, erstwhile Indian Dairy Corporation and the National Dairy Development Board to provide management education, training, research and consultancy support to co-operatives and rural development organisations in India.

 

 
 
 

Programmes

The programme prepares young managers to undertake responsibilities in the rural sector and the development organizations. It is a two-year residential programme leading to a postgraduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM).

  • Fellow Program in Rural Management (FPRM) – Doctoral programme
  • Certificate in Rural Management (CRM) is a one-year course 
  • Certificate Programme in Dairy Management (CPDM) is a one-year course 

Eligibility

A graduate from any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education, having 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ST/dap (differently abled person)) aggregate marks at the graduation level can apply for admission. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned university or institution. Those who are in the final year and who expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before July 14, 2014 can also apply.  
Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for PRM. There is no management quota for admission to PRM at IRMA.

Selection Criteria

IRMA will use CAT 2013 scores for admission to 2014-16 Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PRM)and 2014 Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM).

Supreme Court's decision on IRMA admission test for 2014 PRM and FPRM is pending. IRMA 2014 aspirants are requested to appear for CAT 2013.

Cut -Off

 IRMA Authorities have not disclosed any official information regarding IRMA 2014 except the application form which will be disclosed on 25th September, 2013. IRMA 2014 Cutoff are expected to be on the same lines and pattern as that of past years. The IRMA Cutoff vary for all the category students which means the Cutoff for the candidates belonging to the General Category are expected to range between 85 to 80 percentile where as, for the candidates belonging to the OBC category and the cut for females is likely to range between 80 to 85 percentile and the candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD and Sponsored is likely to range between 75 to 80 percentile.

 

Fee Structure

The Course fee for Open candidates, for its PGDRM programme approx Rs.4 lakh . 

Infrastructure

The campus is fully residential and equipped with student hostels, mess, lecture halls, seminar rooms, library, faculty and administrative offices, auditorium, executive training and development centre, faculty and staff housing, dispensary, and other support facilities. The IRMA staff co-operative store caters to the residents’ daily necessities. Faculty and staff live in the campus quarters provided, thereby providing facilities for interaction with the participants beyond classrooms.

Placement Records

PRM graduates are highly valued by cooperatives, NGOs, government development agencies, and national and international donors engaged in promoting rural development.

The highest package was about Rs.13.5L with an avg. package of Rs.& lakhs for the batch of 2011-13
