The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (abbreviated IIM Lucknow or IIM-L) is an autonomous public business school located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1984 as the fourth Indian Institute of Management (IIM) by the Government of India. IIM Lucknow offers post-graduate diploma, fellowship and executive programs in management. It is recognised as an "Institution of Excellence" by the India's Ministry of Human Resource Development. It is ranked among the top 5 B-schools in India. IIM Lucknow also serves as the mentor institution for the newly established IIM Rohtak and IIM Kashipur.




IIM Lucknow conducts regular two-year diploma program in management, one year executive MBA program, fellowship program and a number of short term MDP programs.

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (It may also referred to as Persons with Disability (PWD) category)], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2014 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2014) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate.

Selection Criteria

Candidates are shortlisted for the interview on the basis of their performance in the CAT, scholastic achievement and relevant work experience. Group discussions and interviews are then conducted at Bangalore, Kolkatta, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad in the end of February onward. Final selection is based on performance in CAT, scholastic achievement, work experience, and performance in the group discussion and interview.

Fee Structure

The Course fee for Open candidates, for the PGP programme is approx. Rs.11 lakh inclusive of Tuition fee, Books/Course material, Library, Computer facilities. In addition to the Fee, the students will be required to pay the Alumni Membership Fee & Refundable deposits.

Strategically located murals and carefully christened buildings like Chintan (the Faculty Block), Bodhgriha (the PGP Block), Manthan (the MDP Block), Gyanodaya (Library: The Rich Learning Resource Centre), Computer Centre (with state of the art computing facilities), and Samadhan (the Administrative Block) motivate the thought process for concentrating on specific areas of activities as well as integrate the overall process of knowledge generation, application and dissemination.
